Instead of initially authorizing banks to “pull” your credit report, have your own copy along with credit scores available so that you can fax it directly to them. Only give banks the authorization to "pull" your credit report once you are pre-approved and are satisfied with closing the deal with that particular institution. Presenting your own credit report and credit scores to potential lenders, limits the amount of inquiries in regards to your credit report, which can have a negative affect on your credit score.
